The course addresses the concepts of entrepreneurship and innovation, guiding students in developing a business idea and validating the business model, target audience and launch strategy. Through project work, students will simulate the process of creating a startup, analyzing its strengths and critical issues. Lectures will delve into the language of the startup world and the innovation ecosystem, providing tools to assess the value of a business idea from the perspective of investors and venture capital. The teaching approach combines theory and creativity, leaving room for students’ personal initiative.
Course-specific learning objectives:
The course aims to provide students with an in-depth understanding of entrepreneurial dynamics, developing analytical and strategic skills for business creation and management. Students will become familiar with the language of startups, learn to identify market gaps through needs analysis and propose innovative solutions. The training includes the study of the stages of business creation, from conception to exit, the analysis of the psychological aspects of being an entrepreneur, and the application of creativity to develop concrete case studies. Group work will be central to sharpening task management skills and meeting deadlines.
Mode of teaching delivery:
Teaching involves a mix of lectures, startup testimonials and practical exercises. Students will be involved in project work, which will allow them to directly apply the concepts learned in the course, developing a critical and operational view of entrepreneurial innovation.
Mode of examination/evaluation:
The exam will consist of the presentation of a project work, in which students will have to define the birth and launch of a startup from a needs analysis. Assessment will be based on the quality of the paper, the ability to argue and the clarity of the slide presentation.
