List of topics covered:

The design process begins with an in-depth analysis of the brief to understand brand values, identity, and goals. This is followed by a research phase on direct and indirect competitors, with the study of the brand’s perceptual positioning in relation to the market. The creation of user profiles helps to identify needs and desires of the target audience, while the survey of industry trends provides strategic insights. Having defined possible design directions, discussion with the client allows the approach to be refined. The process continues with the collection and clustering of visual stimuli, exploration of concepts and selection of proposals, until the final project presentation.

Course-specific learning objectives:

The course offers an immersive experience similar to that of a consulting firm, allowing students to address every aspect of the process, from challenges to opportunities. The goal is to develop a professional approach based on accountability, time management and adherence to deliverables. Critical thinking is stimulated, encouraging in-depth analysis without taking anything for granted. The course also aims to create consistency between research, analysis and exploration, refining project proposals within the available timelines.

Mode of teaching delivery:

Teaching will take place mainly with an initial open discussion time with the whole class, followed by reviews (30 min per group). At the end of each lesson, the step to be deepened for the next lesson is requested and explained through examples (the request is also sent via email). Students are free (at any time) to send me their perplexities or doubts via email

Mode of examination/evaluation:

The final exam will be the presentation of the final project papers to the client and will average the grades awarded throughout the course and the Intermediate Working Meeting.
