List of topics covered:
This course provides students with the skills needed to conceive, design, and test interactive experiences between users and digital and physical products. Key concepts of User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design, research techniques with users, and the use of digital design and prototyping software such as Figma will be covered. The curriculum is divided into three modules: UI Design & Figma, multimedia design development, and product and service ecosystem design.
Course-specific learning objectives:
The course aims to develop the ability to design digital interfaces, understand user needs and translate insights into functional and aesthetic solutions. Students will acquire the basics of UX/UI, learn the advanced use of design tools, and be able to analyze and redesign multimedia products. The teaching methodology emphasizes a hands-on approach, stimulating experimentation and discussion.
Mode of teaching delivery:
Classes combine theory and practical exercises. Each module involves the development of a collaborative project: the first focuses on analyzing and redesigning an existing app, the second on creating a new multimedia product, and the third on defining a product ecosystem. Students will present interim advancements and a final presentation for each module.
Mode of examination/evaluation:
Final evaluation will be based on the quality of intermediate and final group project presentations, individual exercises, and expository and presentation skills. Engagement and active participation in class activities will also be considered.
